Hand Therapists at The Orthopaedic Center are Occupational Therapists who, through advanced training and experience, specialize in treating individuals with conditions affecting the hand and upper extremity.
At The Orthopaedic Center, your therapist works with doctor. They will collaborate about your rehabilitation program from start to finish ensuring you progress at the right pace with your unique goals in mind.
For trauma and after-surgery care, we traditionally focus on the reduction of swelling, scar mobility and appropriate exercises specific to your surgical procedure. Frequently a custom fabricated orthosis (splint) is made to provide protection and support for the surgical repair. Therapy is progressed in coordination with your surgeon to include exercises and techniques to allow you to return to the highest level of function possible in work, at home and with recreational activities.
